Sylfirm x Rf microneedling

Sylfirm X is a microneedling system where radiofrequency micro-needles are inserted into your skin and RF energy is emitted from the device the form of heat which is delivered into the dermis. The needles inflict microdamage into the skin which stimulates collagen production, improving skin elasticity and firmness. 

Sylfirm X is able to target anomalous vessels that cause rosacea, melasma and other skin discolorations due to the innovative Pulsed Wave technology along with traditional continuous wave technology. Sylfim X is not a laser; however, it does use radiofrequency technology. Sylfirm X safely heals the damaged epidermal regions following needle insertion by selective coagulation of vessels while destruction of only the anomalous blood vessels. Treatment area is first cleansed then numbing cream is applied to the area. After numbing is complete the area is again cleansed and sanitized, and the device is applied to the skin's surface while radiofrequency micro-needles are inserted into the skin inflicting microdamage in a controlled manner.  RF energy is emitted from the device in the form of heat which is delivered to precise dermal layer of skin. This stimulates the body's healing response by activating synthesis of new collagen and elastin within the skin. Depending on the treatment it can be used to target the melanin in the skin causing apoptosis of the melanocytes seen with melasma and dark spots and also strengthens the basement membrane of the dermal layer, leading to minimized recurrence of melasma. It can also be used to strengthen collagen bonds leading to skin tightening and lifting. Treatment time typically lasts 30-45 minutes. 

Prior to your treatment: 

-No use of acutane within last 6 months

-Avoid retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, hydroquinone, benzoyl peroxide

-No active sunburn

-No IPL/Laser procedures or waxing 7 days prior to treatment

-No shaving day of procedure (at least 24 hours prior)

-No significant changes in the skin 

-No Botox or filler within 2 weeks of treatment

-No sunless tanning serum or lotions in treatment area for 2 weeks prior to treatment

Most people experience zero to minimal downtime after treatment. You may have pinpoint bleeding, slight redness and swelling right after treatment however this is typically resolved within 24-48 hours. 

After treatment: 

-Redness or sensitivity may be present for 24 hours

-Avoid strenuous exercise for sweating for 24 hours 

-Use mild cleansers or consider SkinCeuticals post procedure treatment kit

-Avoid prolonged direct sun exposure for at least 24 hours. Following first 24 hours use minimum of SPF 30 sunscreen and reapply every 2 hours while in direct sunlight.

-You may resume weaning makeup in 24 hours

-Recommend repeat treatment in 4-6 weeks, for best results complete a series of 3-5 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
